What are the implications of the complexity of identity—individually and collectively—for fostering inclusion, for ourselves and others? In this session, Dr. Bernardo Ferdman will address these and related questions, challenging participants to engage more deeply and in a more nuanced way with themselves and each other and to increase our capacity for inclusive leadership.

Storytelling for Connection: Remaining Genuine in the Age of Information Overload
11:00 - 11:45 am CST
Leadership
Ivon Rodriguez | Founder & VP of Marketing & Engagement @ The 360 Group
Throughout much of our childhood, education, and professional development, we are taught to fit our strengths into templates. How can we be an asset to another person… an organization… a job? How can we fit who we are into what someone else needs and yet stand out enough to be chosen among the sea of cookie-cutter profiles?!

This session will take you back to your childhood as you reminisce over the important role stories played in your life. Whether it was with the Three Little Pigs or La Caperucita Roja, as kids we connected to certain storybook characters more than others as we saw ourselves represented in the lines being read to us. Later in life, we gravitated towards authors that seemed to tell our stories. And yet, somewhere along the way, we forgot that connection and a genuine approach played a key role in our engagement with the world and who we would eventually become.

Join me as we reengage with our authentic selves and the genuine stories that will enable us to navigate our personal and professional goals while remaining true to ourselves.
